30-Day Used Engine Warranty

Sydney Motorbike Spares provides a 30-Day Used Engine Warranty on selected tested engines. This warranty is designed to give customers additional confidence when purchasing a used motorcycle engine.

This warranty applies only to engines specifically advertised or invoiced as including a 30-Day Used Engine Warranty.

Warranty Period

The warranty is valid for 30 days from the date the engine is delivered or collected.

What Is Covered

The warranty covers major internal mechanical failure of the engine that is determined to have been present at the time of sale.

Covered internal components may include:

• Crankshaft
• Connecting rods
• Pistons
• Internal bearings
• Cylinder head and valves
• Internal gearbox components where the gearbox forms part of the engine assembly

All engines are used components and normal wear consistent with the engine's age and kilometres should be expected.

Mandatory Professional Installation

To qualify for our additional 30-Day Used Engine Warranty, the engine must be installed by a qualified motorcycle mechanic or licensed motorcycle repairer.

If a warranty claim is made, the customer must be able to provide proof of professional installation, such as an invoice or receipt containing the workshop/business details and installation date.

Engines installed privately or without verifiable proof of professional installation are not covered by our additional 30-Day Used Engine Warranty.

The professional installer must ensure that the engine is correctly installed and commissioned, including:

• Fresh engine oil of the correct specification and quantity
• New oil filter
• Correct coolant where applicable
• Cooling system correctly filled and bled
• Correct oil circulation/pressure
• All fluid levels checked before operation
• Wiring and electrical systems correctly connected
• Fuel system correctly connected and operating
• Intake and exhaust systems correctly installed
• Manufacturer installation and servicing procedures followed

Components Not Covered

Unless specifically stated otherwise in the listing or invoice, the engine warranty covers the engine's major internal mechanical components only.

External, electrical, service and bolt-on components supplied with an engine are not automatically covered, including:

• Starter motor
• Alternator/stator
• Regulator/rectifier
• Sensors and switches
• Wiring
• ECU
• Injectors
• Throttle bodies
• Fuel system components
• Clutch and clutch components
• Water pump
• Thermostat
• Hoses
• Spark plugs
• Ignition coils
• Sprockets
• Engine covers and cosmetic components

Some of these components may be left attached to the engine for convenience but do not form part of the engine warranty unless specifically stated otherwise.

Warranty Exclusions

Our additional 30-Day Used Engine Warranty does not cover failure or damage resulting from:

• Incorrect installation
• Incorrect or insufficient engine oil
• Incorrect or insufficient coolant
• Oil starvation or loss of oil pressure
• Overheating
• Incorrect wiring or electrical connections
• Incorrect fuel system installation
• Incorrect tuning or ECU modification
• Performance modifications
• Forced induction or modifications outside manufacturer specifications
• Racing, competition, track or motorsport use
• Accident or crash damage
• Abuse, misuse or neglect
• Continued operation after overheating, warning lights, abnormal noises or other signs of a fault
• Internal dismantling, modification or unauthorised repairs before Sydney Motorbike Spares has had a reasonable opportunity to assess the claimed fault

Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe there is a problem with an engine covered by our warranty, stop operating the motorcycle immediately and contact Sydney Motorbike Spares.

Do not continue riding or running the engine, as this may cause additional damage.

Do not dismantle, open or repair the engine before contacting us unless reasonably necessary to prevent further damage or authorised by Sydney Motorbike Spares.

To assess a warranty claim, we may request:

• Proof of purchase
• Proof of professional installation
• Installation invoice
• Receipts or evidence of new oil, oil filter and coolant
• Photographs or videos
• Diagnostic results
• Compression or leak-down test results
• Oil-pressure or cooling-system test results where relevant
• Written assessment from the installing/diagnosing mechanic
• Inspection or return of the engine

Sydney Motorbike Spares must be provided with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and assess the engine and claimed fault.

Warranty Resolution

If a claim is accepted under our additional 30-Day Used Engine Warranty, Sydney Motorbike Spares will provide an appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances, which may include repair, replacement or refund.

Labour, Removal & Other Costs

Unless required under the Australian Consumer Law or otherwise agreed by Sydney Motorbike Spares, our additional 30-Day Used Engine Warranty does not automatically cover consequential expenses such as:

• Installation labour
• Engine removal or refitting labour
• Diagnostic fees
• Towing
• Vehicle hire
• Loss of use
• Other indirect costs

Freight associated with a warranty claim will be assessed according to the circumstances of the claim and any applicable rights under Australian law.

Engine Testing & Condition

Engines sold by Sydney Motorbike Spares are used motorcycle components, not new or reconditioned engines unless specifically advertised otherwise.

Where available, listings may include information such as:

• Donor motorcycle kilometres
• Compression readings
• Running/testing information
• Photographs and videos
• Known faults or damage

Testing information represents the condition of the engine when inspected by Sydney Motorbike Spares.

Used engines may have normal cosmetic wear, marks, scratches, discolouration, surface corrosion or other signs of previous use.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

The Sydney Motorbike Spares 30-Day Used Engine Warranty is an additional warranty provided by us and does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available to customers under the Australian Consumer Law.
